Silver Chum Salmon

When the Chum salmon acquire their spawning physical change they are the ugliest and meanest of all salmon. Known to be a rod breaker they are like a semi truck once hooked. If you have the opportunity to catch them as they enter the river system and they are silver they are beautiful and taste excellent.

Randy

Randy and I fished the Puntledge River and this area there is no dry land. So all your gear must be on you. We made sure all our leaders were made and stored with Rigrap for quick and easy gear access, Amundson Outdoors casting rod to handle the salmons powerful runs, and the Luckystrike bait rubber net for safe catch and release.

The river is very slippery with all the brown algae and loose round rocks and boulders. A wading staff is essential. Drifting with a float and a small #1 hook we caught dark springs , Pinks salmon and then finally as the tide came in so did fresh chums.
