I have always been amazed watching the fluid motion of a Spey caster. Amundson Outdoors gave me the opportunity in 2018 to start a journey to the Spey with their 14-foot rod. After hours and days of practicing the D cast on dry land, I felt I knew enough to venture to the river. LOL big difference practicing on dry land and then going to stand in the flowing river. After two hours of frustration I got a little help and my timing finally all came together and the D cast was flying out 3/4 across the river. I lucked out and caught two silver Chum salmon fresh from the ocean. My first salmon on the Spey and did I handle myself composed like a professional? NO, I scream with joy like a little girl. I was shaking so much after landing the Chum with excitement and was on a high for the rest of the day.
