
When an angler is covering a river with varying water depths, it is advantageous to use a sliding float. A sliding float allows the angler a shorter float to lure length and also has the ability to reach various depths of the river flow.

Often in our big rivers in British Columbia, a wader will fish shallows, rifts, deep pools, slots, etc. A sliding float will move to its maximum depth, which is set with an adjustable knot and a bead positioned above the float.
